According to studies in the Journal of Education Research, children can lose approximately 2.6 months of knowledge if not provided with any educational stimulation over long breaks. To help students practice Math over the summer, Math Tutor Network offers both remedial and preview programs for elementary school and high school students.
Fundamental Skills Development
Math Tutor Network's Fundamental Skills Development program is designed for students who would like to solidify their math foundations knowledge. Often, students struggle in Math not because they are not able to understand the theory in topic, but because of a gap in their math foundations. This barrier prevents students from trying further as they lost their confidence in Math.
JUMP Math for Elementary
Our JUMP Math program is intended for elementary school students who would like to improve on their numeracy skills. We recommend using the JUMP Math curriculum as a preview for next school year's math course. JUMP Math offers a variety of exercises and step by step examples to guide students. It is one of our most popular summer programs for Math K-7.
Accelerated Preview Program for High School
The Accelerated Preview program is the equivalent of the JUMP Math program for high school students. Students will be given a preview of the materials to be covered in their upcoming math course. A brief review of core concepts taught in the previous year will also be given to ensure students' adequacy.
Back to School Review
Featured in the Globe and Mail, the Back to School Review is our most popular summer program. Review sessions are generally divided into 4 to 6 sessions. Lessons can either be run individually or in groups. This program is perfect for students who would like to brush off the rust coming back from vacation. Our review program is available for both elementary and high school students. Lessons generally start in August and runs until the end of September.
